Forced Independance

I want to state for the record that I do no wish to be as independent as I am.

Today I exchanged power cords on my dryer...after hooking up the washer. Less than a month ago I replaced 4 rotating sprinkler head...I go to work and provide for myself financially...I even have located fuses in the car that need to be replaced.

The truth is that as I was standing in Home Depot clarifying with the customer service person that there was not any kind of simple converter for the dryer I thought...

This must be how men feel when they fix stuff, they do it because there is eventually no other option. Still someday when I am part of a cool married couple I will praise my husband up and down for doing these things, just because I don't have to!!

amen to that. in fact "being handy around the house" is on my list of pre-requisites for my next hubby. my first one was NOT. when the toilet broke I fixed it. When the pipe under the sink in the kitchen busted I fixed it. the list goes on, and now that I'm single, i continue to do these things; and i hate it!
