Then comes the [Son]

There is something wonderful about spring. The idea of new life and possibilities hangs in the air. It is around this time of year that Tulips begin to bloom. The are simple and beautiful and have long been my favorite flower.Just the that they will grow back year after year gives me some kind hope. I have found that I have lived long enough to know that much like the melting of snow that the beauty of life comes and goes. There are Winter's in all of our lives when we think that the work of sustaining is all there is.

But then comes Spring.

It is only because I know that the oppotunity for exhalutation and continued growth is possible that I make it through the Winter's in my life. I believe that as my potential lies just beneath the surfacethat the [Son] will shine and allow me to grow.

The winter's are essential for the spring. The [Son] always comes.

He allows us to grow and reach our potential.

Group Work

I have been doing group work since, well however long I have been in school. I am used to people not doing their part, expectations not being met and having to carry the load.... But never, no never did I think someone would just no show up for a presentation, but that is what happened last night. I had to do her part and mine. Is it wrong that I think the only good excuses is an emergency of some sort? Showing up is a big part of working together!

I have no short game

Here is the problem girls I am a dork. After years of being single I still don't know how to play the dating game. When I do meet a guy thatI thnk is wonderful (which is rare) I am to excited and anxious to talk to him that I act more like a good friend than an aloof mysterious woman. I am like a school girl with a crush, and for anyone who remembers me from way back when that can be a scary thought. I have no short game. I don't know how to stand on the sideline and wait my turn I want to be in the game. I am ready to give my all I just don't know how to wait my turn.

Changes

Sometimes change comes out of the blue. Yesterday my sweet roommate announced she is moving back to CA to be with her fiance. I totally support it! but it also means that I have to make some plans for me to finish school here. I am lucky that I have a best friend who will take me in. So in the next month I get to pack my things and put them in storage and be in limbo. I don't mind, this is all for the process of education. Deep breath and move forward.

Held in Reserve

I sometimes feel like I am constantly Held in Reserve for life. My life anyway. I have so much to offer and would love to move forward with a family of my own, but it seems to remain just out of reach. I have met some nice men lately who are honorable and easy to respect, but I can only pray that one such man sees in me what I have to offer and let the rest be in the hands of someone wiser than I. I don't know why I am in reserve, if the lesson comes in waiting or if the need is not there, but I do know that I can ready to act. I am ready to step up to the plate and be a wife and a mother. Till them I am working on serving all those around me and continuing in faith. Of course I could just be a secret weapon... something to think about :)

Families are Forever

Saturday I had the opportunity to go to my sister's family sealing. When we got to the temple we were asked to dress in white (becaused a deceased sealing was being done). Without too much detail I can say that the spirit was strong inth room and it was an honor to witness our family growing eternally. With newer and olde generations on both sides in attendance.

SuperPowers

SuperPowers

For awhile now I have found that the easiest description of my abilities to the children in my life and many of the adults is that I have SuperPowers. I know that many of you do as well, even though you might not refer to them freely. SuperPowers behaviors, traits or abilities that are superhuman, supernatural, or paranormal.

Here are some examples:
Super Hearing
Mind Control
Ecological Empathy
Innate Capability
Omniscience
Superhuman Intelligence
Superhuman Tracking

Summoning

So what are your SuperPowers?

Ring Shopping

No announcement here, but some day dreaming I wanted to share with my friends
As a single woman I have been ring shopping for years.
My tastes have changed over the years, although I have always wanted a yellow gold ring which is not currently popular. Here is what I originally wanted many years ago

Then there is the antique look that has become popular

The real break through for me when I discovered pave settings for the band. About that time I also began to struggled to pick between a round and princess cut diamond (good thing I have more time to choose).

That ring is pretty isn't it. My sister's ring is a white gold similar to this and it is even more sparkly in person.
This ring has a cushion cut which is growing on me. And Although I can picture things getting into all the detail I love the delicate detail.

Who knows what I will come up with next.

With Compassion

It was yesteday during gospel Docteine tha discovered for myself a wonderful truth.

The lesson was:
"Lesson 7: “[He] Took Our Infirmities, and Bare Our Sicknesses”," New Testament Gospel Doctrine Teacher’s Manual, (2002)

As we read about miracles that Christ preformed we read Mark 1:40-42

And there came a aleper to him, beseeching him,
and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him,
If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

And Jesus, moved with compassion,
put forth his hand, and touched him,
and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

And as soon as he had spoken,
immediately the leprosy departed from him,
and he was cleansed.

This term "moved with compassion" struck me in he moment and I decided to look up the definition of cmpassion on my phone (yep right there in Sunday School, I am a rebel)

Compassion (from Latin: "co-suffering")

Hold on folks did you see what I see?

Christ was moved to co-suffer with th leper in order to heal him. Christ as our Savior suffers along with us inorde to heal. He is not detached on a throne observing but at an intmate distace so much that He is co-suffers all.

One more note for those who are interested.
PonderMark 5:25-34 and the concept of co-suffering.
What does it mean to hae compassion on your fellowman?

The cold that won't end

So what I didn't mention in my last post is the weekend I got the intership I also got a cold... count back three weeks. I have been sick on and off since then. I was going to travel to Idaho for my nieces baby blessing and another nephews birthday but decided against it with my ongoing fever/sleeping constantly. I have been feeling better all week, but then work up with a fever a couple times last night. Seriously body I am so over this whole thing!

So what is your least favorite thing about a cold?
I vote for cotton mouth

UPDATE - Turns out it is a double sinus infection... and I have medicine.

Intern Extrodinare

I am proud to announce that I have secured a PAID internship... I finish my class work for my master's degree in august and I heard it was a good idea to start looking early.

I will be doing my internship at LDS family Services in Idaho Falls. I am thrilled to be headed back the family land... since everyone but me lives within 15 mile of each other.

I will be working with missionaries, birth and adoptive parents (with adoptions), couples, families and individuals. I know this is a blessing and excited to find that all this hard work is getting me to my goals.
