So lately I have been thinking deeply about graduate school...I started a couple years ago and have been taking classes here and there, but I am still only on the path. I thin I am just about ready to be all grown up and take the plunge and finish my Master Degree.
I used to think I wasn't old enough to be a therapist...I mean seriously you have to get to a certain age before you have anything worth wild to say. I don't know anywhere close to all of it, but I have learned a couple of things.
I have gotten some field experience to compliment my education. Before I moved to Idaho Falls I was worried that I wouldn't really like being involved with people on such a personal level...or they wouldn't want me to be that involved. Still over the last three years I have gotten a true taste of the field. My current supervisor is an amazing therapist who has been an excellent mentor.
So the question is do I take the plunge and apply to a full-time program and get it done...or do I keep working and keeping taking classes over the next several years?

I say, if it's something you would regret not having done-GO FOR IT!! finish it up and be proud of your accomplishment. My husband has his master's degree (it was hard but worth it) and I have never heard anyone who has one, regret finishing it!! With that being said, I wouldn't want life to throw you a curve ball in future years and then not being able to finish it would be sad. (I hope I make sense!!)
I agree. Once you get married and start having babies your priorities change. (This is not a bad thing!) But, if you really want to finish your Master's, then just go in for the plunge and do it!
Vote 3 for doing it now rather than later. I know of a very flexible, program in Arizona if you want to know more... I'll fill you in on the good, bad, and ugly. It's the one I did and it took me 3 years to finish. I was working full time, but didn't have kids yet. I can't imagine doing it while I had kids. Well, I can, and it would have been HARD. YOu could easily finish in a year and a half or 2 years by taking a more full schedule than I did. The killer is non-resident tuition. We should chat! Mine was paid for by my job... a possibility for you and I can give you some scoop on that too if you are still considering moving to AZ. Man or no man, it's a good place to live and work. Having him there is a perk though right!
